Democratic state Rep. requests investigation into Akin residency

A Democratic state Representative has asked for an investigation into reports that Senate candidate Todd Akin, pictured here, voted 10 times from the wrong address.

A Democratic state Representative from the St. Louis area has officially asked Secretary of State Robin Carnahan to investigate whether Congressman Todd Akin broke any rules by voting in Town and Country despite having an official residence in Wildwood.

Missouri House passes photo ID resolution

A proposed constitutional amendment that would require Missouri voters to show photo identification at the polls has passed the Missouri House.

The resolution’s sponsor, State Representative Stanley Cox (R, Sedalia), argued that a photo ID is a better method of identification that a utility bill, which is allowed under current law.

Mo. House passes "late term" abortion ban

The Missouri House has passed legislation to ban so-called “late term” abortions in the Show-Me State.

The bill would ban abortions after 20 weeks unless two doctors verify that a fetus is either not viable or is a medical threat to the mother.

Mo. Senate and House committee pass photo I.D. requirement for voters

Legislation that would require Missouri voters to show photo identification at the polls is advancing in both chambers of the General Assembly.


First, a Missouri House committee this morning passed a resolution that would put the photo ID question before voters as a constitutional amendment, along with a bill that would implement the amendment into state law if passed.
