Mo. House Dems send letter opposing Limbaugh "Famous Missourians" induction

News surfaced Monday that radio commentator Rush Limbaugh is to be inducted this year in the Hall of Famous Missourians at the Missouri state Capitol. Now, Democrats in the Missouri House of Representatives have sent a letter to House Speaker Steven Tilley asking that the plans to induct Limbaugh be "abandoned."

The letter says that "Fame alone has never been considered sufficient to earn someone a place in the Hall of Famous Missourians" and that, if that were the case, "outlaws Frank and Jesse James  - two of the most famous Missourians of all time - would have been inducted long ago."

Mo. budget goes to Gov. Nixon's desk

The operating budget for the 2012 fiscal year is in the hands of Gov. Jay Nixon, shown here making his 2011 State of the State address, at which he also outlined his budget plans.

The $23 billion operating budget for the state of Missouri is on its way to Governor Jay Nixon (D).

Lawmakers in both chambers gave final approval to the package of bills this afternoon.

Mo. House committee quickly passes state budget

The House Budget Committee has quickly wrapped up work on Missouri’s state budget for Fiscal Year 2012.

The process of voting 13 budget bills out of committee is often raucous and can take several days to do.  This year, it only took an hour, with each budget bill passing overwhelmingly.
