A jury in Waterloo, Ill. has found Chris Coleman guilty of strangling his wife Sheri and their two sons.

Columbia, Ill. police found Sheri, 9-year-old Gavin (L) and 11-year-old Garett Coleman (R) strangled in their beds on May 5, 2009. Two years later, Coleman's husband Christopher would be convicted in their deaths.

Two years ago today, police in Columbia, Ill. found 31-year-old Sheri Coleman and her sons - 11-year-old Garett and nine-year-old Gavin - strangled in their beds.

Tonight, a Monroe County jury found her husband Chris guilty of their deaths, after 14 hours of deliberation spread over two days.

Nixon Proposal Would Boost Oversight of Dog Breeders

Governor Jay Nixon proposed Wednesday to add $1.1 million to the state budget to hire 10 more inspectors, investigators, veterinarians and office staff for the Department of Agriculture program that regulates dog-breeding facilities. Nixon's office says the state currently spends about $600,000 a year on such efforts. The Senate Appropriations Committee considered the agriculture budget Wednesday but took no action on Nixon's proposal.
