If you're heading downtown this weekend, be patient - roadwork by the Missouri Department of Transportation is probably going to cause back-ups.

MoDOT crews will be closing all lanes of Interstate 64 from Jefferson through the Poplar Street Bridge at 3 a.m. Saturday, with the lanes re-opening Sunday afternoon around 3. An eastbound lane and  two westbound lanes of the Poplar Street Bridge will close at 5 a.m. Saturday and re-open around 5 p.m. Sunday.  All the lane closures are needed so crews can do earthquake retrofit work.

A group of cities in north St. Louis County want to install speed cameras on Interstate 70.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that St. Ann and other cities agreed this week to apply to the Missouri Department of Transportation for permission to use the cameras.
