Wagner wants top Republican post

Ann Wagner, a familiar face to Missouri Republicans, (and the people of Luxembourg) announced her intentions for a bigger post today; Chairman of the Republican National Committee.

She made the  video announcement today (above) on her website.

A couple of talking points from the announcement highlighted her record and intentions for the RNC :

• "My lifetime of service to the Republican Party, a record of proven conservative leadership and results, has prepared me for this job. Today I am asking for your trust and support."
• "The RNC needs to be funded to its maximum obligations. We must be efficient, relevant, professional and credible. We must start immediately to erase past debt and to restore the confidence of our donor base."

Current RNC chairman Michael Steele, who has been criticized by some Republicans, has yet to say if he will seek another term.
