Rally St. Louis... Sports? Three Of Five Ideas Set For Budgeting Involve Athletics

Rally St. Louis, the new non-profit seeking online submissions for ways to improve the region, announced the five ideas advancing to the first round of budgeting today. Citizen votes determined the ranking of the ideas.

Sports-related ideas came to the forefront with two of the five ideas selected focus on the sport of soccer, and one on basketball:

• To bring the National Soccer Hall of Fame to town.
• To create a large, outdoor turf area for year-round soccer playing.
• To build outdoor basketball courts around town to serve as community gathering places.

The remaining ideas pushed forward in the process include the topics of hyper-local food and the transformation of the Cotton Belt building.
