Lippmann returned to her native St. Louis after spending two years covering state government in Lansing, Michigan. She earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and followed (though not directly) in Maria Altman's footsteps in Springfield, also earning her graduate degree in public affairs reporting. She's also done reporting stints in Detroit, Michigan and Austin, Texas. Rachel likes to fill her free time with good books, good friends, good food, and good baseball.

UPDATE: Lindbergh Blvd. could reopen around noon today

Update 10:35am with additional details about the hazard and possible reopening time.

Technicians from General Electric are at the scene at SSM Imaging to help the Mehlville Fire Department vent helium gas from an MRI machine at the medical office.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says the venting should take about 15 minutes, and emergency officials hope to reopen a closed stretch of Lindbergh Blvd by noon today.

ABB employees gather to remember the three people killed and five who were wounded last year when a disgruntled employee opened fire in the building in the background.
Some of the 100 employees who attended the dedication listen as an ABB co-worker remembers their colleagues.
The memorial to the eight victims (three killed, five wounded) of last year's workplace shooting at transformer manufacturer ABB. ABB spokesman Bob Fesmire says the fountain represents renewal.
