Lippmann returned to her native St. Louis after spending two years covering state government in Lansing, Michigan. She earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and followed (though not directly) in Maria Altman's footsteps in Springfield, also earning her graduate degree in public affairs reporting. She's also done reporting stints in Detroit, Michigan and Austin, Texas. Rachel likes to fill her free time with good books, good friends, good food, and good baseball.

Judge throws out St. Louis' red light camera law

Red light cameras in Hazelwood. A judge in St. Louis city today threw out the city's law allowing the cameras because it conflicts with state statutes.

Last public housing tower for St. Louis families to come down

The city of St. Louis has received a $7.8 million federal grant to build new housing for the residents of the last tower at the Arthur Blumeyer public housing complex just north of Grand Center.

The federal Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded the city of St. Louis $7.8 million to help redevelop the area around the city's last public housing tower for families.

Old Post Office legal battle reaches settlement

A nearly decade-long legal battle over the redevelopment of the Old Post Office in downtown St. Louis is over.

The parties in a malicious prosecution lawsuit reached a settlement Tuesday.

The redevelopment plan involved the demolition of the Century Building to build a parking garage that would serve the Old Post Office, which was converted into office space.

Minor damage to Fox Theatre after Sunday fire

A small fire at the Fox Theatre Sunday morning caused minor damage and no injuries, but forced the cancellation of the day's performances of "Jersey Boys."

A small fire at the Fox Theatre this morning caused minor damage and no injuries, but did force the cancelation of the Sunday shows of "Jersey Boys."

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the blaze started around 5 a.m. There's no word yet on a cause.
