Young boys attempt to push a car from flood waters in downtown Poplar Bluff, Missouri on April 26, 2011. A levee on the Black River protecting the area from major flooding has breached in several places, forcing authorities to evacuate residents.

Flooded Poplar Bluff Hit with More Rain

The southern Missouri town of Poplar Bluff endured another night of torrential rain, this time dropping another two inches of water onto already saturated ground.

 The Black River levee that protects the town's low-lying neighborhoods survived Tuesday night. The earthen wall was breached yesterday south of town, which flooded farmland, but released pressure within city limits.

Martin Family Files Suit Against August Busch IV

A wrongful-death lawsuit filed against former Anheuser-Busch CEO August Busch IV over the drug overdose death of his girlfriend has set off a squabble within her family. The lawsuit filed Thursday accuses Busch of carelessness and negligence in the December death of 27-year-old Adrienne Martin at Busch's estate. It seeks unspecified damages for her 8-year-old son.

An autopsy identified an accidental oxycodone overdose as Martin's cause of death, though it showed she also had cocaine in her system.

Emerson considering U.S. Senate run in 2012

Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson says that she is considering a run for the U.S. Senate in 2012.

Emerson has been a member of Congress since 1996. Her rural district encompasses all of Southeast Missouri and includes the towns of Cape Girardeau, West Plains, Farmington, and Rolla.

Emerson says that she is not going to rush into a decision.
