Girl Unintended Victim Of Shooting in Dutchtown

A 4-year-old St. Louis girl is hospitalized in serious condition after being the victim of a drive-by shooting.

The shooting happened Thursday night in the city's Dutchtown neighborhood. Police say the girl was not the intended target. She was shot in the shoulder.

The girl and her mother were visiting a home and were outside when a car drove by. A shot was fired from the passing car, apparently intended for someone standing in a group nearby.

No arrests have been made but authorities say they are working leads in the case.

A midnight screening of the new Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises turned into a horribly real scene of death and destruction in Aurora, Colo., early Friday when a gunman opened fire on the audience killing 12.

Witnesses said the shooter came into the theater dressed in black after the film had already started. He threw a cans with either smoke or chemical irritants into the auditorium and the opened fire. Police say the gunman used a rifle, a shotgun and a handgun during the rampage.

Warrants issued for arrest in MetroLink disturbance

The St. Louis County prosecutor has issued arrest warrants for a man who pointed a gun at a MetroLink security officer.

The warrants are for 29-year-old Dominic L. Webb of North County for one count of unlawful use of a weapon and one count of unlawful possession of a concealable firearm. The bond was set at $20,000.

A security officer saw a disturbance between Webb and another man at the Hanley MetroLink platform on Tuesday, Jan. 24 around 4 p.m. The security officer intervened and Webb pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the officer.

One man is dead and two others are hospitalized after a shooting in the St. Louis suburb of Wellston.

St. Louis County Police spokesman Rick Eckhard says officers were called to a house Thursday afternoon where they found one man dead. One of the injured men was found in the street about two blocks away, while the other made it to a small market about four blocks away and sought help.

Police said they didn't know the cause of the dispute, nor the identities of the victims. Eckhard said the injured men were expected to survive.

Eckhard said police don't yet know whether the shooter was among the victims, but he added that police weren't conducting a manhunt.

Detectives were at a hospital waiting to talk to the injured men.

Charges filed related to shooting of 14-year-old girl in Jennings

A 14-year-old girl from the St. Louis County town of Jennings is in critical condition after being shot in the face while walking home from junior high school.

Police say someone fired shots Monday afternoon from a SUV, striking the girl, who was walking with friends.
